To paint something uplifting, joyous and beautiful with spontaneity and honest emotions. That was how I set out to make these two paintings which can be viewed as a conjoined diptych or as two separate, but related panels. It was made at the end of of the UK's long lockdown to mark a fresh start and a new positive beginning. There is an element of the happy decorous design about this piece as if it was made to be installed in a home to bring joy and beauty into the lives of those who live with it.
