Gareth Edwards was born in London in 1960 and studied at London University, graduating in 1984, and Goldsmiths College of Art, London. He has exhibited extensively in London and most recently in St Ives, Truro and at Newlyn Art Gallery.
Gareth lives and works in St Ives, Cornwall. Much of his latest body of work addresses the experience of being in the sea, the loss of power and necessary submission that entails. The paintings powerfully convey a sense of being overwhelmed, of the ego diminishing as it is encompassed by sea and sky.
