Born Fife, 1956. Studied Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and MA at Royal College of Art graduating in 1982. Numerous awards and scholarships and in 1998 elected Royal Academician. Since 1981 solo exhibitions throughout the world including Tate Gallery, National Museum of Victoria (Australia) and Cincinnati Museum and Art Gallery. In 1997 the largest public sculpture, 'Train', made from bricks, was unveiled in Darlington and in 1999 the National Portrait, a 78 metre mural, was completed for the Dome in London. Since 1995 he has been exhibiting his drawings and collages at Jill George Gallery. |
